Since 1967, EDF has linked science, economics and law to create innovative, equitable and cost-effective solutions to society's most urgent environmental problems. Cool California

Cool California is a new website that provides consumers and businesses with information on how reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. Their carbon footprint calculator evaluates both direct and indirect emissions of greenhouse gases from a variety of sources including transportation, daily energy-using activities, goods, and services.  Cool California is sponsored by the California Air Resources Board, CEC, The Berkeley Institute of the Environment (BIE) and the Renewable and Appropriate Energy Laboratory, Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL), and Next 10. 

 

California Integrated Waste Management Board

Provides answers and resources for the most common business waste issues and links to waste prevention and recycling resources and programs.

 

ICLEI 

Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI) is a membership association of local governments committed to advancing climate protection and sustainable development. ICLEI's mission is to build, serve, and drive a movement of local governments to advance deep reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and achieve tangible improvements in local sustainability.


Consumer Reports

Consumers Union (CU) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to work for a fair, just, and safe marketplace for all consumers. Consumer Reports serve to educate, give reviews, and recommend products.


Flex Your Power

Flex Your Power provides energy efficiency-related educational materials, incentives, rebates, and services applicable for residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural purposes.


Acterra 

Acterra provides energy resources for the home or business, including links for green building, solar companies, and energy efficiency applications.


Ecology Action

Ecology Action offers programs on energy efficiency, pollution prevention, transportation, waste, and climate change.  

 

American Solar Energy Society

American Solar Energy Society is a national organization dedicated to advancing solar energy.  

 

Alliance to Save Energy

The Alliance to Save Energy (ASE) is a national, nonprofit coalition of energy related organizations and businesses dedicated to increasing energy efficiency. ASE provides information about energy conservation, lesson plans, and building tips for new school construction. The Alliance sponsors the Green Schools Energy Program, focusing on increasing energy efficiency on school grounds [Green Schools pollution calculator (energy efficiency = pollution prevention)] 

 

National Renewable Energy Laboratory

National Renewables Energy Laboratory provides educational resources, including curriculum lessons and links to other renewable energy-related resources

The Solar Electric Power Association organization focused on encouraging the use of solar energy at schools in the United States.

A program of the California Energy Commission (CEC), offering services to help schools become more energy efficient.
