The Solution
There are many ways Californians can beneficially change their driving habits, thereby lowering carbon emissions, and saving money and energy. Listed below are incentives for using cleaner vehicles, retiring older cars, sharing vehicles, and switching to public transportation.
Programs BART/MUNI Bay Area Rapid Transport (BART) offers reliable transportation from the San Francisco Peninsula to Oakland, Berkeley, Fremont, Walnut Creek, Dublin/Pleasanton and other East Bay cities. Are you a low income individual or small business employee – or know one - who might be willing to drive your car less in exchange for free BART tickets? Do you or someone you know want to retire your car - and get paid to have it scrapped - in exchange for a no- or low-cost membership in a car rental program? Contact SF Community Power - 415.626.8723
More on Statewide incentives. California’s Parking Cash-Out Program California state law requires that employers who provide subsidized parking spots for their employees offer cash allowances in lieu of their parking spot. For more information click here.
