Find out how much you can save by upgrading to water saving appliances
Find out how many gallons per flush your toilet(s) use by checking for a label in back of the seat or in the tank. If you can't find a label, perhaps you know the approximate date when the toilet was installed. Pre 1950's toilets typically use 7.0 gallons per flush; 1950's-1992 toilets tend to use 3.5 gallons per flush; 1992 to current typically use 1.6 gallons per flush.
If your faucet displays liters per minute, multiply your faucets LPM reading by .264 to convert it to gallons per minute.

Put food coloring in your toilet tank. If it seeps into the toilet bowl without flushing, you have a leak. Fixing leaks can save up to 1,000 gallons a month, and reduce your meter bill.
