Demand Response Sign Up Steps
STEP 1: QUALIFY
Fax a complete copy of your PG&E bill to (415) 626-8746. Qualifying businesses must have have a digital interval electric meter installed (these are typically found in newer buildings or buildings with over $15,000/month electric bills). Qualifying meters have specific rate schedules listed on PG&E bills such as E19 and E20, or if your bill indicates "time of use," or TOU service. Please note that businesses served by municipal utilities, such as in Alameda and Palo Alto, do not qualify for this program.
STEP 2: SIGN UP
1) Fill out and sign the forms in the Enrollment Packet. Filling out the packet takes five minutes. It includes the SF Community Power Enrollment Agreement and the PG&E Notice to Add Customers form.
2) Please mail both forms directly to SF Power. As a sign up bonus, choose one of our free energy saving devices!
STEP 3: PREPARE
You will receive our Welcome Packet in the mail. We can help you identify ways to curtail your power use through our outreach, education, and technical support program.
STEP 4: STAND-BY
On energy alert days, during the months of June-September, we'll contact you via phone and email about the need to temporarily reduce your electricity use. Some months you may not be called at all.
STEP 5: GET PAID!
You'll get paid $40 per kW reduced when called upon June-September. We'll send you a check in November for your participation.
