ProgramsDemand Response Sign Up StepsSTEP 1: QUALIFYFax a complete copy of your PG&E bill to (415) 626-8746. Qualifying businesses must have an electric bill of at least $2,000 a month and be able to temporarily turn off at least one kilowatt (kW) of power. Examples of one kW loads are ten 100 watt light bulbs; 20 fluorescent fixtures; adjusting air conditioner thermostat a few degrees; electric motors; refrigeration compressors, and heavy-duty appliances. Please note that businesses served by municipal utilities, such as in Alameda and Palo Alto, do not qualify for this program. STEP 2: SIGN UP1) Fill out and sign the forms in the Enrollment Packet. Filling out the packet takes five minutes. It includes the SF Community Power Enrollment Agreement and the PG&E Notice to Add Customers form. 2) Please mail both forms directly to SF Power. As a sign up bonus, choose one of our free energy saving bonuses! STEP 3: PREPAREWe can help you identify ways to curtail your power use through our outreach, education, and technical support program. We'll also arrange for PG&E to install your FREE digital utility meter if you don't already have one. STEP 4: STAND-BYOn energy alert days, during the months of June-September, we'll contact you via phone and email about the need to temporarily reduce your electricity use. Some months you may not be called at all. STEP 5: GET PAID!You'll get paid $40 per kW reduced when called upon June-September. We'll send you a check in November for your participation.
